Please follow up with a Phonecall to the Surgery between 9am – 5pm, Mon – Fri to ensure your Covid 19 Testing form has been received.
Our main contact with our patients at the moment is through telephone calls. As you may appreciate we are experiencing a significant increase in the volume of calls to the surgery and we would appreciate if you can be patient when ringing. We would appreciate that you keep your phone to hand after logging a call with reception as the Nurse or Doctor may be calling you back.
The practice is open as usual on all working days Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, closed for lunch from 1pm-2pm – this will not change (excluding bank holidays). However, we are currently operating a closed-door policy.
Symptoms, Signs, Prevention and Self Isolation:
Please visit the dedicated HSE website for up-to-date advice regarding the symptoms of COVID 19 and how best to protect you and others from the virus :
We will be continuing appointments for childhood immunisations. The HSE has advised it is more important than ever that your baby/child receive the routine schedule of vaccinations. Please contact the surgery to arrange an appointment.
We are limiting appointments to patients most in need to reduce the risk of spreading COVID19
Requests for appointments will be triaged by our staff. If you have any symptoms suggestive of COVID19 (cough, fevers, shortness of breath, aches and pains) Please see the form above and your request will be reviewed by the doctor who will call you back and discuss your symptoms in more detail if required. The doctor will decide on whether an appointment is appropriate and advise you what to do next.
If you are attending an appointment please ring our reception staff so they can check you in, remain in your car until Nurse/ Doctor is ready to see you.
Testing for COVID 19:
Where appropriate and where there is clinical concern a doctor will refer you to be tested for COVID 19. We do not carry out these tests on site – do not attend the practice to be tested. You do not need to attend the practice to be referred for testing – a doctor will decide on the need to refer for testing over the telephone triage.
Once you being referred for COVID 19 testing a member of public health service will contact you directly in relation to where and when the test will be carried out – please be aware that due to the high demand this may take a number of days. Once referred for testing please remain in self isolation until the result is communicated to you. If your symptoms deteriorate while awaiting the result of the test then contact the surgery immediately.
Routine bloods will be rescheduled for a later date.
Please allow at least 48 hours for repeat prescriptions. Please be aware we will remain open during the COVID 19 crisis as will pharmacies. When ordering a prescription please specify your pharmacy of choice – when your prescription is prepared it will be picked up by the pharmacy or you can call to the door of surgery and a staff member may bring it out to you.
Medico-legal / other Documents:
Please contact the surgery regarding any documents that you may need completed and our reception staff will be able to advise you accordingly. Appreciate however, that it will take longer to complete such documents then normal due to the Covid 19 outbreak.
The Family Care Practice would like to thank you for your cooperation during this difficult time.
