What services are covered with my medical card?

Your (GMS) Medical Card provides you with access to a wide range of medical services from your nominated GP.

These services are provided to you free at the point of delivery and include standard consultations for treatment of illnesses and related services necessary for the treatment of a wide range of medical conditions.

No distinction is made between Full Medical Cards and Doctor Visit Cards (DVC) in terms of services available from your GP. Both cards entitle you to the same service. However, holders of the Doctor Visit Card will have to pay for their medications in the pharmacy.
